Should I See A Doctor If I Have Hand Pain And Swelling Due To Injury?
Today I banged my forearm on a wall corner while working construction. It broke open the skin in a small spot abd bled a bit. A lump about the size of a quarter swelled. Ice reduced the swelling a great deal. It hurts to move my hand. This happened about 4 hours ago. Should I see a doctor?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for writing your query Although it does not look to be serious injury, my advice would be it’s better to visit a doctor to rule out fracture, because our naked eye cannot see the minor (hairline fracture) what the x ray can see. Meanwhile continue with the ice fomentation and covered the wound with antibiotic solution and clean cloth/bandage. Take care Regards Dr.chugh Orthopaedic surgeon http://bit.ly/drmchugh
