Should I Be Concerned About The Swelling And Cramping In My Knuckles Following An Injury?

four weeks ago I drunkenly punched an object very hard. The following week, my ring finger knuckle was very swollen. the past 3 weeks the swelling has gone down, but there is still swelling on the same knuckle, and between my ring and middle finger. Besides the swelling, the only other side effect was it felt weird if I was handling something, specifically when using my ring finger. It didn't feel as strong as normal, and would spazz or cramp up. The puzzling thing about my injury was unless I bend my ring finger all the way up or all the way down, there was really no pain. Not even if I put a little bit of pressure on it. What is wrong with my knuckle? Is it imperative I see a doctor, or should I just wait it out a little longer.
