Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should I Be Concerned About Dizziness And Headache After A Hit On Head?
I hit my head in a bathroom 5 days ago. It made me pass out and I was unconscious for a short time. I went to the hospital. I have a cut about two inches long and an inch wide. They put staples in my head. They wanted to do catscan but I refused at the time. The lump is still very large and I have had headaches off and on. Two days after it happened I fell down when I tried to get out of bed, I was very dizzy. Today I feel terrible. I have a headache and the area is THROBBING. Does this sound normal?
I am so sorry to hear about this pain and the fall. Please, it would have been best for you to do the CT scan so that we can tell with certainty whether you had any brain injury or not. This would greatly help in management as it is very important. I strongly recommend you return to your doctor for evaluation and management. Please, consider getting the CT scan done. What was the reason why you denied it the first time?
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
