Should Doxycycline Be Taken After Food?

Sshould my husband eat before he takes doxycycline? and do bananas interfere with the potency of the med?He is on this med for 21 days after being diagonised with Lyme Disease. 2 years ago he had a major head bleed/stroke & had a 7 hour brain surgery to remove an AVM. He has been doing well until this happened & I see neurological changes occuring.

Doxycycline does have some interactions with food and food supplements so it is suggested to take it 3 hours after food to minimize the adverse effects.
