Short history: 28, male, irregular smoker in small doses, moderate alcohol intake. Have had identical symptoms 11 months ago, went away without treatment.

Symptoms: Gross hematuria at the end of urination and a little at the beginning (which is probably residue from last urination's end). Middle of urination is orange/darker but not blood colored, while end of urination is dark red and smells like iron. Occasional blood clots at beginning of urination, lower back discomfort at hip height, occasional pain at scrotum, "tense" bladder. No pain whatsoever during urination. Single case of feeling razorblades inside body at right side, from groin to chest. Slight fever of 37.8 celcius, regular temp 36.6. No physical trauma. Kidney stones unlikely due to lack of pain and duration.

Time ill: 9 days, cipro since day 2.

Exams: Blood tests, urine sample, urine cultivation. No bacteria, no UTI. Physical exams by pressure on stomack, pelvis and back, no pain, no lump or hard masses. In queue for CT, ultrasound and cysto. Currently on 10 days of Cipro, no improvement after 7 days. Hematuria has gotten worse.

Thoughts: Probably extraglom, suspecting prostate or bladder due to gross hematuria at end of stream. Risk of cancer small due to age but possible due to history of smoking. Scared due to uncertain of cause, possibility of cancer.
