Severe Weight Gain For A Polio Patient Of 58 Years. Need Advice On Surgical Procedures Of Weight Reduction

My mother is 58 yrs old and suffers from post polio .She is 5 feet tall and usually weighs 95lbs.Over the post couple of years, she has gained up to 30 lbs of fat, almost all in her belly. She is now in a wheelchair 80% of the time and has great difficulties getting herself around due to the extra weight that she carries.I am wondering if something like smart lipo laser would help? Or another procedure that would be safe? I am so worried about her.It is devastating to watch her suffer like this. Thank you for your advice.Rachele

Hi Dear thanks for your question ,you have mentioned your mother a polio patient on wheel chair is over weight, dear the weight which you have put is not much ,if converted to kg it comes to 43 kg which is not over weight,i think you mean 95 kg instead of 95 lb,if it is so,then she needs weight reduction, there are two surgical ways by which she can reduce weight ,one is liposuction,in which fat is removed and second is biotic surgery ,in which ,a band is put round the stomach to decrease its size, so that patient can eat less ,consult some surgeon in your area ,who can decide which type of procedure she needs, though difficult for polio patient
