Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Respected Doctor, I am 35 years old with a 3 teeth PFM dental bridge on the right upper jaw starting premolar,1st molar and 2nd molar. The bridge is currently worn off with abrasions and metal visible. The bridge also has detached. I request for your expert opinion on the below query?
1) Is PFM suffice for replacement or shall I consider emax or Zirconia bridges. However, fear about all porcelain bridge as I have heard people say it cracks and chips on applying accidental loads. I normally use my teeth for chewing and griding.
2) What is the specific advantage for all porcelain over PFM. What is wrong with PFM other than the marginal metal visibility near the gums that is not seen in the full porcelain crown.
3) Can I consider repairing the existing bridge? If so is it commonly done in India?
Thank you in advance for your patience.
regards, Kanthaswamy
