Red, Hot Swollen Itchy Area On Left Knee, Also On Left Elbow, Tried Antibiotics, Bactrin, Prednisone. Solution ?

My granddaughter woke up Wednesday with a red, Hot area, swollen to about the size of a softball, and that really itched on the inside of her left knee. A trip to the ER produced little more than an antibiotic, Bactrin and 4 prednizone. Yesterday she started with the same symptons on the inside of her left elbow. Now the hotness area on the knee is gone, but the other symptons remain and around the outside area looks like a purple bruise. Help

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
From description pain and swelling over your knees and elbow seems to be inflammatory in nature. Giving rest to the part and taking antiinflammatory drug will be helpful to reduce pain and inflammation. Consult your doctor for examination and to rule out any infective pathology.
Hope this will helps you.
Regards.
