Red Bumps On Chin, Not Pimples, Clear Skin. Is It Related To Chicken Pox?

Yes, thankyou. I just had a few little "hard" reddish bumps come up on my chin area all of the sudden. They are not pimples as I know what those are like and these are hard and quite painful, plus my skin is usually quite clear so I was wondering if it could maybe be that thing I've been hearing about on TV associated to if you had chicken pox as a child, I can't think of the name of it right this moment?? Thankyou so very much to any help you may be able to give me in regard to this matter.

Hello,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

Thanks for your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

I suspect it to be furuncle.

It is a staphylococcal infection of the hair follicle.
It look like pimple and but not a pimple.

This can be prevented by good personal hygiene and cleanliness.
You can help prevent staph skin infections by washing your hands frequently and by bathing or showering daily.

If you develop a staph infection, you can prevent spreading it to other parts of your body by being careful not to touch the infected skin, keeping it covered whenever possible, and using a towel only once when you clean the area (wash the towel in hot water afterwards or use disposable towels).

It can heal with the above said clean habits with 10 to 15 days. But to fasten recovery you may need antibiotic ointment or creams.

Soaking the affected area in warm water or applying warm, moist washcloths may help in relieving pain and decreasing inflammation.

Hope this helps.
Please reply for further queries.
Wishing you good health.

Regards,
Dr.Manjeth kumar.
