Recurred Burning Urination With Lower Stomach Pain, Traces Of Blood In Urine. No Bacteria Found In Urine Culture. On Piridium. Treatment?

Back in August, I had what appeared to be a UTI. Burning with urination. Took one round of antibiotics. One week later the burning and lower abdominal discomfort returned. Doc did a urine culture and not baceria. Took Piridium for a week and did another culture because pain returned and still no bacterial growth on second culture. There is trace amounts of blood in urine. As long as I take pirididium I don't feel the burning, but within 24 hours of stopping the medication the burning returns. This is now going on almost 8 weeks and I have never had this before. What are the possible causes and how to treat?

Thanks for the query

If the infection has cleared then the burning could be because of concentrated urine. Here is what you should do

1. Drink plenty of water, about 6 cups per day unless contraindicated
2. Urine alkaliniser like syp citraalka three times per day
3. Get a urine routine and culture repeated just be sure once again
4. Be sure to void urine after sexual inter course
5. if the problem persists then the second close differential to be ruled out is a sexually transmitted disease, please approach your physician for further work up
