I have not had a period for almost 9 weeks and I took a First Response HPT a week ago and almost IMMEDIATELY had an extremely faint positive. My partner and I always used protection and he pulled out as well. At 8 weeks why would a positive be so faint? (almost nonexistent if I hadn t known that a negative doesn t look like that.) Could my (supposed) baby be developing wrong?
At times a faint positive (false) result is seen with a home pregnancy test due to a hormonal imbalance. But as you have not had your period for almost 9 weeks now, pregnancy is certainly a possibility that has to be ruled out.
Many women do not test positive until 3 months into their pregnancy, and this is even considered normal, and not a sign of any developmental abnormalities of the fetus. So please visit your doctor further management.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
