Provide Effective Suggestions On The Usage Of Over The Counter Drugs (OTC)

My question deals with phlegm and OTC products for relief. My husband is taking Plavix, Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen , Diclofenac Sodium, and recently started using Spiriva spray. He has developed a lot of phlegm that will not move-he cannot cough it up. Any advice on the OTC meds he can take

Hi,
As a Doctor, I do not advice use of OTC drugs as the cause of the problem needs to be treated than the manifestation as is being done now. The use of OTC may further worsen the condition as the cause is continued to develop, while we treat only the phlegm.
I request you to do a chest Xray to determine the cause of the cough, get a phlegm test done to identify the cause - TB/others and then treat as the treatment varies with he cause.
Hope I have answered your question and please consider my suggestion... for the betterment of your husband
