Persistent High Blood Sugar, No Consistent Diet And Food Timings, Metformin, Only Exercise Helps, Suggestions

I am consistently having high blood sugars btwn 179 and 340. I try to eat a consistent diet at regular intervals however due to work I am unable to always remain on a schedule. Currently I am taking 1000mg metformin twice daily. It seems the only thing that consistently brings dwon my blood sugar is exercise. I try to get a walk/jog in 3-4x daily.

Dietitian & Nutritionist 's  Response
Dear Cherie, For a Diebetic, regular/diet according to schedule is very important to keep the insulin levels constant which in turn helps maintain a standard blood sugar levels. Diet, medication and exercise go hand in hand when making an effort to maintain optimum sugar levels. As a dietitian, i would suggect you to include a lot of fiber in the form of whole fruits, whole wheat, pulses and leafy vegetables. And always remember to say a big NO to sweets and refined products. Good luck!!!
