On Friday October 31 2014, I had a root canal at the Endodontist.
Novocain with Epinephrine was used.
I then went home and ate lunch. Everything was fine.
However, right when I was finished brushing my teeth I suddenly
felt a cold sweat come on and became faint.
I went directly to bed to lie down.
For 5 hours I had waves of nausea with a cold sweat that came and went at least 5 or 6 times.
After about 6 hours I finally got up to drink some water and lie down again.
I then took my temperature and it was 101 degrees F.
It stayed 101F for about 24 hours.
I took 81mg baby aspirins, 2 at a time every 3 hours with water.
My temperature went down to 99.4 degrees and stayed there for about 18 hours.
Of course I have fatigue with it.
I called the Endodontist he prescribed Amoxicillin 500mg every 8 hours for 7 days.
After the 4th pill I began to feel better, my temperature was down to normal.
I have 5 more days left to be on the antibiotic. *** I never did have any other signs of bacterial infection, like sore throat or nose infection etc. ***
I was out and about today but with shortness of breath, while walking around a large supermarket.
I do not know if I really have a bacterial infection, or adverse drug reaction to the Novocain with Epinephrine. But what I am really worried about is if the Epinephrine induced a mild painless heart attack with my body temperature of 101 degrees F for 24 hours. I am 5' 6'' 150 lbs. 55 year old Caucasian male. My father had a massive heart attack at 42 years old, a second heart attack at 44 years old and his fatal third heart attack at 50 years old. I have a cholesterol ratio of 6 to 1, with at total number around 260.
Let me know what you think,
