OK Hello, My mom had bowel reconstruction surgery in April to remove a blockage due to lymphoma. She then had a round of chemo(cisplatin based) in June for the lymphoma. (3rd time) The week following the chemo on Friday she had her blood drawn. This was 4th of July weekend, so her blood was mot actually checked until the following Tuesday. Too late she was in renal failure. She was put in the hospital for 14 days where they tried to flush hew kidneys. Meanwhile with hew system already weakened she got an infection in her April surgical sight. It was pretty much a nightmare. In early August she started dialysis. She still has chronic diarrhea and severe hemorrhoids due to the bowel surgery. In a nutshell, how long until her kidneys repair themselves and is there anything she can do to her her kidneys get better?
