Noticed Lump On Jaw. Using Hearing Aid. Should I See A Doctor?
my mum who is 87 has noticed a lump on side of jaw in front of her right ear - it doesn't hurt at all but she's worried about it - looks bigger now than this morning - she recently started wearing hearing aids - should I take her to A and E?, ring 111 or wait and see a doctor in the week - she walks with difficulty since breaking both hips - and uses sticks, so it's good if I can sort this when i'm home from work and can get her seen. Should I see someone very soon incase it will grow more and get worse?
I read your query regarding a lump on side of jaw in front of ear, this doesn't hurt. You are in doubt as this lump is related to hearing aid as recentaly your mother started wearing hearing aid. Here I would like to tell you that your mother is probably having either pre-auricular lymphadenitis or sialoadenitis of parotid. This may be confirm by Ultrasonography of the parotid area or by the FNAC from lump. In this way one may make the diagnosis of lump which may be accordingly managed.
This lump unlikly to be concern with use of hearing-aid.
I hope your query is answered.
Regards.
