No Breathing Problems After Swallowing Gum. Need To Consult A Doctor?

I believe I swallowed my gum down the wrong pipe or tube. I couldnt breath for a moment but instead of coughing it up like I have done in the past it feels like its just sitting in my throat. I can breath fine and I slept ok should I be worried or go to the doctor?

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

I feel that if you have the persistent feeling of something sticking in the throat, you should definitely meet a ENT surgeon, who can do a laryngoscopy and find out if you have the gum sticking somewhere.

I dont think that thats what has happened, but I think you should do it, cause if it is sticking in, thats the best way to have it removed too

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Please feel free to ask another query. I would be glad to help you. Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
