Need Help With Understanding My Transvaginal Scan

hi i had a transvaginal scan and results were uterine shadow measures 8.0x4.5x3.2 cm with an endometium l measuring 0.3cm and a left ovary measures 5.4x3.1x3.5 cm with a volums of 31 cc and a cyst in the left ovary measuring 4.1x4.2 my doctor seems that all is ok but is it really??? I am 42 years old

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Most probably you have simple cyst in left ovary,though nature of cyst is not mentioned in the report.
Presence of cyst is causing enlargement of left ovary.
Simple cysts in ovary is a common findings and in most of the cases it only require follow up USG if it is asymptomatic.
If it causes symptoms like pain or there is increase in size then it may require surgical intervention.
