My thirteen year old son began complaining of tenderness in the balls of his feet out of the blue last night. After resting all night he woke up with the balls of both feet extremely swollen, red, warm and painful. We called his pediatrician but they were out of the office today. We have been alternating ice, taking ibuprofen, soaking them in Epsom salts, etc. He is in less pain but them swelling has continued. I am unsure if we should wait to see the doctor tomorrow or take him to an ER tonight?!
