My Spouse, Martin, Is In Our Home In Palm Springs,

My spouse, Martin, is in our home in Palm Springs, while I (Bill) am up in Oregon taking care of my elderly mother for a few weeks. He came down with a cold or worse. He thinks he is over the worst of it as he feels a bit better this morning. His worst symptom is that he has noisy bubbly sounding breath especially on the exhale and trouble breathing if he lays down flat. I myself have had pneumonia four times although all of those times were over 40 years ago, but during my pneumonia I too had bubbly sounding exhales (also sounded like tweeting birds). He has no fever and doesn't feel especially weak, so that is good. He accidentally left the bedroom window open his first night with this (Monday night) and woke up especially cold before realizing that the window was open. Does this just sound like a bad cold or something worse? Thank you in advance for answering.
