My Son Who Is 2 Years And 11 Months Old

My son who is 2 years and 11 months old had colds for over 1 week, cough for 4 days and fever that started 2 days ago. His temperature was 101.6 yesterday so my husband and I took him to his pediatrician. He just finish his 10-days antibiotic 12 days ago due to an ear infection. The pediatrician that saw us yesterday was concerned of his breathing so she gave him a Nebulizer treatment at the doctor's office. His breathing remained the same so she said to bring my son to the ER, so we did. A chest X-ray was done and result was negative for pneumonia. The ER doctor also assessed that his breathing seemed shallow and he is exerting effort to breath. The doctor gave him another dose of nebulizer treatment and oral Prednisone before releasing us. Today, my son's temperature seem to increase at night, it was 97 this morning, now it's 98.1 again. My son mentioned that he have boo-boo in the tummy 2 days ago, and he said it again tonight. I asked my son the location and tried palpating his stomach. It seemed to be in upper abdomen (epigastric area). I forgot to mention it at the ER. Do you think this is an infection in the tummy that is causing his fever?
I hope you can give me some advice. I need to bring my son to his pediatrician tomorrow anyway for a follow up ordered by the ER doctor and nurses. Thank you for your time.
