My son just had second CT scan in Bimrming, AL, finally referred to research hospitla there, that showed cyst in sphenoid sinus at left base of skull in occipital region has grown since CT six months ago in Panama City, FL. MRI did not show Chiari. I have that (I am his mom) and MRA did not show anything significant. Neurologist in AL was having a meeting with ENT there in AL and don't know what they have decided yet. He has been having severe icepick headaches in that area, which I had right after my suboccipital craniectomy in 12/02 for Chiari. A year is a very long time to mess around. I have nothing good to say about Panama City doctors right now except the new primary doctor who immediately referred them to this hospital in AL. I had a wonderful neurosurgeon in NETex where we are from but living in OK for job now who saved my life. Could it be causing occipital neuralgia, too? I had therapy for mine after surgery, hot/cold, electrolysis, and range of motion and have had breast biopsy for cyst in breast being watched, ovary removed covered in cysts and then total hysterectomy, and polyp in colon that was benign. What can they do for my son? This needs to be removed somehow and headaches are so very painful and much more often. Thank you, Mrs. Lawrence
