My Son Is 22 Years Old. When He Was 17

My son is 22 years old. When he was 17 years old he started getting severe panic attacks
and was told that he had ocd & put him on zoloft 50 mg he did well for 2 1/2 years. He is in his junior year in college. After finals a week ago he started getting severe panic attacks also like before thinking that his loved ones are going to die, and falling into a dark hole etc. We brought him to emergency, they admitted him, since last week doctors up his dose zoloft to 100 mg. He still is not feeling well and doctor wants to change his adavan to Klonopin. My question is is this the right way to go or is something else is better...
