My Sister, A Long Time Alcoholic (vodka) Went For Detox.

My sister, a long time alcoholic (vodka) went for detox. On the 5th day and upon release, she had a grand mal seizure. She was extremely confused and was having hallucinations. She was still able to communicate with me but her stories were grand. This was 2 months ago. She has been hospitalized, transferred around, placed in assisted living, and is currently back in the hospital due to repeated visits to the ER because of constant falling if she is even conscious enough to get out of bed. I am at a total loss. Is she over medicated? Has her brain continued to deteriorate since the seizure after the 5 days in detox? Even the nurses at a hospital which specializes in detox and rehab for substance abuse have asked me "what in the world happened?"
The docs tell me her vitals are good enough to get her out of the hospital, but she is so incapacitated that there is no way I can care for her. The hospital social worker cannot find a facility to take her. Should I expect that she will stay this way, or is it possible that she will ever be able to take care of herself again?
