My Mother Is 62. Shes Had A Normal Pap Within

My mother is 62. Shes had a normal pap within the year, a normal colonoscopy within 3 years but shes had off and on abdominal/pelvic heaviness and soreness that increases on standing. She is not constipated. Shes afebrile. She went to the doctor today who said ovarian cancer or diverticulitis are possibilities. She will schedule an ultrasound on monday. My experience with diverticulitis as a nurse has alway been a specific area of fairly sharp pain. Ive never heard of someone complain of general soreness or heaviness. What about colon cancer? Her grandfather died of colon ca. Just freaked this may be cancer!
