My Husband Is A Type Two Diabetic On Both Insulin

My husband is a type two diabetic on both insulin and tablets but his insulin is slow release the aim from the diabetes nurse was to raise his morning blood sugars but she's completely ignoring me when I ask what to do when his sugar levels are rising in an evening to above 18 he's just come out of hospital after suffering a DKA and I DON'T want a repeat but nobody will tell me what to bloody do I feel all alone as I don't feel like the diabetes specialist nurse is listening to me I know what to do when his blood sugar levels drop but she hasn't advised me at all about what to do if they get too high and 18.2 even I know is heading towards dangerous levels HELP ME SONEONE PLEASE!!!!
