My Husband Is 64 Has Had A Vp Skint For

My husband is 64 has had a vp skint for over 13 years with 18 revisions...he has been having problems and has been sent to dallas..he had an abnormal MRI which neurosurgeon ordered a shunt o gram which showed to be working last week . July and October 2016 had surgery for tuning replacement..has had bad headache since Tuesday..today and now he is nauseated. Hurting along shunt and back of head and frontal lobe with a temp of 100.4. And has had diarrhea today... could this be shunt failure... he does not want to go to ER as he says all they do is give him pain meds...no one ever finds out what's going on..thank you.
