My Husband Has Had A Previous Heart Attack 4 Years

My husband has had a previous heart attack 4 years ago. He has been under the care of his cardiologist and sees him every 4 - 6 months. On the last visit, his heart rate was 38. He had been prescribed 2 Coreg per day. He was told to discontinue the Coreg until his regular visit on Jan. 7. His heart rate has escalated considerably and was between 90 and 100 today with no extra physical exertion. We have a call into his cardiologist. We are concerned that his heart is having to work too hard and that perhaps he needs to be put back on at least one Coreg. If we cannot get any answers from his physician (Christmas holidays schedule is in effect), would you suggest that he begin the one per day regimen again?
