My husband had total shoulder replacement six days ago and was given gabapentin to be taken three times per day. He was also given oxycodone for pain. He had a nerve block in his upper shoulder/neck area before surgery. Why was he given this and I also read there could be drug interactions if taken with oxycodone?

Hi. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. I did have a total shoulder replacement of my right shoulder 3 years ago. for the last 2 days, my right arm has been weak and when I shower, it shakes and is very weak to use the towel. I did do some yard work this past weekend. Could that be it. Its feels strange.

I have just been told by an orthopedic surgeon that my MRI following rotator cuff surgery 20 months ago now shows complete withering/ retraction such that further repair is not possible. Can physical therapy really help develop other muscles to help compensate? Am I more prone now to arthritis? He mentioned a reverse shoulder replacement, but not now-- how will I know if I need one?

Hi, my husband had a full shoulder replacement 3 years ago. Over the past year, his hand has started shaking a good bit while he holds things like cups or forks. Could it be caused from the shoulder replacement. He s had carpal tunnel surgery about 10 yrs ago, so we don t feel like it s that.
