My Husband Had Been Taking Hydrocodone 5/325 For About 6

My husband had been taking hydrocodone 5/325 for about 6 years, plus fentanyl patch 50 mg. with no problems other than getting sleepy and tired. He's had 5 back surgeries and both hips replaced. Three months ago, another doctor changed the hydrocodone to 10/325 because the pain increased. Now my husband says things that don't make sense, is confused, afraid, has bad dreams, unusual thoughts. He has an appointment with a neurosurgeon but not until Oct. 9th. I feel he should be seen earlier, he is getting worse. Should I call the doctor to see him sooner? Thank you.
