My Husband First Started With Lower Back Pain Months Ago

My husband first started with lower back pain months ago then the pain moved to the front part of his thighs and now down his legs. MRI showed degenerazation of a few lumbar discs, nothing bad enough for surgery. He's tried chiropractor, physical therapy and now is going to a pain management facility where he has been undergoing epidural injections and most recently nerve block injections, nothing has worked. He is still hurting. I'm worried at there is some underlying condition/disease that is to blame. Don't know what to do as far as the next step, blood work? Further testing? Please advise. Thanks
