Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father is 75 years old. He is diabetic. For last two to three weeks he has been feeling very tired. He is not able to go for his usual morning walk. He could not walk for more than 2 minutes. He wants to rest in the bed most of the time. Doctor advised few tests and found that is hemoglobin count is too low (5.1). Rest of the tests were normal (ECG, Blood Sugar, Urine etc.) Doctor advised to run few scans to see if there is any internal bleeding. His abdomen scan results came with prostatomegaly positve. Now the doctor advised as to take more test and scans (PSA, CT Scan for abdomen etc.) We are wondering could prostatomegaly be related to his heamoglobin count being low. His symptom is tiredness and fatigue. We feel like the diagnosis is proceeding towards the prostatomegaly condition. Is the diagnosis going in the right path. Do we need to run any other tests? While we go through the diagnosis process, is there any way to make him feel better temporarily at least.
