My father (85 yrs) is an old case of CVD,HTN (Controlled),Diabetic (always controlled) & IHD was recently discharged from hospital where he has been treated @ HDU for RTI,UTI,Bronchial Asthma (recently diagnosed),senile dementia,CKD (recently diagnosed) parkinson's disease ( sudden diagnosis) with Amoxyclav,Levofloxacin,Nor-Adrenaline drip,Levodopa + Carvidopa,Tryhexiphenidyle Hydrochloride,Clopidogrel,Trimetazidine,Bronchodilators & Steroid in Nebulized form.During the tenure of hospital admission my father has been improved drastically in regard of his mood i.e he was even conversating a mild to moderate amount which was unexpected during his past few years of post stroke period. But now that is after discharge he is not even standing with support and not taking food @ which was present even during his post stroke life.
My Question is two
1) Can a clinical diagnosis like parkinson's disease be made in a post stroke pt where his walking can't be watched and where his hand is only in a claw position no cogwheel type of movement is present
2) Can I withdraw the Levodopa + Carvidopa,Tryhexiphenidyle Hydrochloride at once to improve his feeding ( he is in NG tube feeding+- Oral feeding @ home) & movement with support or should it be withdrawn gradually.
