My dad is 83 and has been having really bad sudden twitching and jerking/spasms of some sort, in his right leg. It seems to start from within his right hip then down his whole leg - sudden twitching or jerking, but without pain. When in bed, the whole beds jerks suddenly when he has these symptoms. He has the worst nights trying to sleep, hardly can sleep at all anymore. Note: he has a pacemaker as of last fall with difibulator for congestive heart failure. He takes BP medication as well fouriesimide as a water pill diuretics to keep water out. Can you tell me what Doctor we should take him for this hip/leg twitching, and what you think that the cause of this is or how to cure or relax his body from sudden jerking so he can get some sleep? Thank you so much. Only thing that we have given him to try and relax him is a pain medicine we had left over.
