Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My dad had a stroke mild one 3 years ago. He was at a hospital and given the medication to help with recovery and reversal with in a hour. Please excuse my grammar I have a head injury and I goof up a lot. Since the stroke he has lost his balance he also has a bad back like me . My lumbar discs are bulging one has been removed. He's been turned down for back surgery and a implant that's like a tens unit. The medication there giving him is a anti cunvulset. I've been searching and trying to understand why. With the pain he is is in sleeping in a chair since taking medication his vision is blurry his balance is horrible he's had to bad falls. When I ask why would a stroke victim be given oxcampine to a stroke victim. And since taking it he has so many of the side effects. I'm truly concerned. He's going to the va hospital he's 80 and I think the va is half the problem. They almost killed him with a shoulder surgery. It had to be done twice and got infected. He's really a mess. Does it sound like this is the right treatment?
