My Ankle Is Swollen And When I Stand On My Feet It Really Hurts. Remedy?

My ankle is swollen all day long and when I stand on my feet it really hurts. I am 48 years and have been gaining weight in the last couple of years & find it hard to exercise because of my feet. Sometimes I feel like my ankle will break if I put pressure on it.

i gues u dont hav histiry of any medical illness.....also,would like to know your profession/working pattern....minimal edema of both ankles on prolonged standing is not pathological......you can manage it with regular breaks durin your job at regular intrvals, for eg every 30 min(just sit down for a while or walk for a while,or do mild mild muscle stretching excercise to improve venous and lymphatic flow.

if it happens on minimal workload/time.....possibilities are here........
1)varicose vein(check for tortuous voens on ur back leg)
2)thyroid dysfunction(check TSH)
3)check ur BP and renal funtion.
4)a heavy belly itself can cause this by pressind on venous and lymphatic channels.try weight reduction.
