My adult son (54 years), who is overweight, has a rapid heartrate of 117, sweating, tiredness, and feels cold, temperature of 100. He awoke this morning with a swollen jaw beside and beneath his lower jaw bone with a temp of 101.8. A visit to the dentist revealed two teeth side by side with cavities that needed to be removed. Both teeth were extracted, and he was given an antibiotic. He has taken one additional antibiotic tablet since he returned home this afternoon. He had not eaten anything until about 40 minutes ago when he had tomato and basil soup. This only stayed on his stomach for about 15 minutes and then came back. He says he feels better after vomiting; however, I am wondering if he might be ok until morning when he can get more substantial food on his stomach and take more of the antibiotic which he was prescribed. Or should I take him to emergency tonight?

My left foot starts out fine in the morning, but by evening it is swollen throughout the upper bridge of the foot and the ankle. It s worse in hot weather too. I ve been to several doctors and get everything from it s your age to just take water pills. None of these things is an answer or a solution. I also have shortness of breath sometimes. I m 49 years old, female, and slightly overweight at 145 lbs. 5 ft. 4 in. Is there a particular type of doctor I should see about this? I ve been to three different GPs who hadn t a clue, although my last doctor said I should get an abdominal scan to rule out anything there. I m not looking for a diagnosis, but more along the lines of suggestions of type of doctor to go see who might have more answers and a solution.

My son is under 19 years old. His attitude has changed a lot after he spent one year in UBC as an international student with an excellent scholarship. He lived in the university residence alone without me because we stayed in Saudi Arabia. We provided him full support emotionally and financially. When he came back, he was overweight and he was depressed. He also failed in 5 subjects because he couldn t handle all the stress. We accepted these facts and got okay with it but he is still depressed and is now not as confident as he used to be. We need help ASAP. Thank you for your time.
