Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 83 year old Mum had cardiac arrest on 27th May was put into a medically induced coma and has survived. She's home now but has recurring bouts of breathlessness. I've taken her to hospital twice where they've checked for fluid intake etc but have never found any. I think they have the radiators on in the house and it's too warm for a start which is making it difficult for her to breathe with reduced lung/heart capacity. They discharged her from hospital with end stage heart failure and since then have diagnosed a heart flutter which she didn't have before. She's mentally good and is actually a long strong than she was when discharged 2 weeks after the SCA episode. My dad phoned an ambulance again last night as she was breathless and none of us were there (they decided they were strong enough to be left alone). It's v tricky my brother and sister live 100 miles away from my parents and I live in a different country. I think they need live in help. My Dad had a heart attack x2 weeks after Mam had SCA and he's had an ICD pacemaker fitted and is thankfully doing well.
