My 80 Year Old Mother Has Been Suffering From Orange

My 80 year old mother has been suffering from orange diarrhoea for around 3-4 weeks. She's been to the doctors and they've arranged for her to have a colonoscopy which is tomorrow. She has not eaten properly for 3-4 days as everything is going straight through her. She has been taking her liquid medication all day (pre the colonoscopy). I'm really concerned as I have just seen her without all her winter clothes on and she has easily lost around 4-5 dress sizes in around a month. She is in a real bad way this evening. No energy, dehydrated, lethargic, unsteady on her feet and really quite lifeless. She's not even managing to get to the loo in time before she has another accident. I've told her she should take an overnight bag to hospital in the morning as I am hoping that whether they do the colonoscopy tomorrow morning or not I think she should be on a drip to at least rehydrate her and will probably be kept in. My concern is that, is there the potential of anything more serious happening tonight before the colonoscopy tomorrow? Her only other serious medical condition is that she has COPD. I've told my dad to call me if he feels she gets any worse but unfortunately neither of them are great lovers of hospitals. Should I be worried? Regards Karen
