My 5 year old daughter has been potty trained since age 2'ish. She has had a mild hemorrhoid since before solid food. At around age 3, she started to get pretty constipated and in conjunction with getting very picky with what she would eat. (Lots of mac n cheese, dry cereal, some fruits, a few others). Her bottom would bleed sometimes and she was always in pain to go.The doctor she sees has had us on a regimen of miralax on/off. It worked enough to make it not hurt when she went. Bring us to today, she has severe encopresis. In the last few weeks up to as many as 8 soiled underwear a day until she finally had a full movement. I understand the anatomy of her stretched colon and the lack of sensation when she needs to go. She is on miralax daily, 2 set times to sit on the toilet, she cleans herself., etc. I am taking her back to the doctor this week to hopefully see a specialist.
So I guess what I need is any expertise you have with dealing with this in other kids in addition to your opinion on what you would do on keeping her out of Kinder (starts Tuesday) for a while until she is better able to control her bathroom needs.
I don't want to just throw her into the jungle and hope she stops. I know it is a combo of behavioral and physiological...
