My 22 yr old son had Jones fracture surgery for an acute non displaced 5th metatarsal fracture utilizing the intramedullary screw fixation on Jan. 20, Orthopedic surgeon suggest he'll be back to competitive sports in 10 weeks, from all the medical post this seems a little aggressive? What's the standard return to full sports after this type of procedure in Div.1 ahtletes? He's targeting an April 13th, 2017 return to basketball participating in a pro-am event. Is that realistic to be able to play by that time, basically 12 weeks after surgery?
