My 13 yr old granddaughter is visiting me for four weeks and has a persistent dry cough. She coughs every few seconds, literally. Her mother says she has taken her to her dr. several times over the last four months but it continues and now I'm having to deal with it. I take benzonatate when I have cough due to colds and wonder it this would work on her. I would not do it without her mother's approval however. Nothing OTC has helped and I'm concerned she may have pneumonia--there is no phelm or spit up of any kind and no nasal discharge. I'm about to seek out an Urgent Care . What do you think? Sandra White
