Loss Of Leg Movement, Unable To Comprehend And Talk After Wine. Why Did This Happen?

Hi , My friend had a good bit of wine taken yesterday at a family event, I wouldn't class it as an excessive amount yet he completely lost the use of his legs and couldn't stand up at all, while he was tipsy he could understand me and was able to answer questions I was asking him but seemed totally out of it, In fact the only way we could get him back to the car from the hotel was in a wheel chair. Once we got him home we allowed him to sleep for about two to three hours on his side as he had been sick earlier, I woke him later and although a little un steady on his feet he was really quite sober and showed no real signs of a guy who might have been drinking heavily only a few hours previous.
Thanking you in advance

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

Drinking wine excessively can cause some disorientation problems. May be your friend had one of such problems. You must observe the complaint about his leg movement. It must have been due to the exessive wine intake and losing control out of it.

Even though observation is a must. Observe for around a week and if the problem of leg movement persists, then consult a GP.

Wish you and your friend good future
