Lips Are Drying And Darkening. Hardly Uses Chap Stick

Hi since the past few days, my lips are drying up and darken. I'm not a smoker and I don't chew tobacco. I'm a male so I don't wear lipstick and I hardly use chap stick. I been only drinking water. I haven't any colored drinks such as cool aid. This never happened to me before. I was wondering if someone knew anything about what I'm going through. What's causing my lips to dry up and darken?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
Sudden darkening of lips could occur due to cheilitis( inflammation of lips), or as medicine allergy called Fixed drug eruption or due to lichen planus.
Causes of cheilitis is many, like change in weather, too much sunlight, habit of lip licking, vitamin B deficiencies etc.
I recommend you to see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helped,
Take care
