Just Diagnosed With Iliotibial Band Inflammation But Pain Is Not

Just diagnosed with iliotibial band inflammation but pain is not localized, instead occurring deep within outer leg from just below knee to a couple of inches below. Rotating foot inward increases pain, as does squatting. Pain with walking but only intermittently. Is the diagnosis correct? No results yet from b-day taken to rule out metastasis (breast cancer 16 years ago). Thank you!
