I've Never Been On Birth Control Beforr And I Today

I've never been on birth control beforr and I today got my period, so I can start taking my pill for the first time (Estelle 35-ED) and as its a Sunday that means I'll only be taking one inactive tablet before lm out of the red section and start with the active tablets on Monday. But I'll be taking the active ones during my period. Is this ok? Can I take the active pill while menstruating? I have never taken an oral contraceptive before so am unsure. Please help
