Hello Dr. Rynne...My 90 year old mother who takes very good care of herself nutritionally, medically, been getting acupuncture weekly for 30 years etc (approx 105 lbs, 5 4 recently was put on a mild hypertensive and blood thinner (eloquis)...had hip repair surgery from a fall 3 years ago) She is having some episodes mostly when sleeping that feel like fluid surges from her naval to her head for approx 30 seconds...when they end she is huffing and puffing out of breath--they occur approx 1-3 times per day. What does this sound like to you? Could they be seizures or what??? Cardiologist had no idea, Neurologist ordered carotid ultrasound--result is: Normal, No significant plaque formation, no hemodynamically significant stenosis ...IN addition he ordered a Brain MRI--The result from the report is: The ventricles, cisterns, and sulci are prominent compatible with atrophy...Atrophy most prominent in the cerebellum...There is also patchy white matter disease most likely related to changes of small vessel disease. No masses, mass effect, hemorrhage or cortical infarctions identified...There are normal vascular flow voids. Mom is on a cane and walks pretty good (a little rickety--I always hold onto her and have caught her from falling a few times), and has some mild to moderate memory issues...lives at same home for last 60 years takes care of my 60 year old sister with Turner s Syndrome. For the last couple of month she has helpers come to her house day and nite. Any thoughts on the above related to what all this means and how to reverse it if possible? and what you would do if this was your mom? etc would be greatly appreciated...I want to help her...my sister will be devastated without her...and I have my hands full as a single dad of a 27 year old with autism. Thank you Dr. Rynne

My doctor had not given me any physiotherapy and I ve been in a brace for the last 3 weeks, waiting for a review on my mri, what are my chances of healing without surgery? Should my knee have more range after 7 weeks? Regards Christine

Hi, I lift weights and have noticed a pain in the centre of my chest, slightly to the right side if anything. it feels quite deep inside. The pain is worse in the morning and sometime wakes me up in the night. I also feel the pain when I sneeze of sometimes if I move in a certain way. I can feel it to a lesser extent i I exhale fully. It has also been limiting me from doing certain exercises at gym due to uncomfort. The docters have checked my chest and said it feels clear so have guessed it to be something muscular, I have gone for massages but this has not helped, can you offer any advice? Thankyou Chris
