Is Tingling And Cold Sensation In The Legs A Symptom Of A Torn ACL?

I fell and possibly hurt my knee because it hurts enough that I can t bear weight. My skin is also cold to the touch on my shin and foot and is tingling. Is the cold numb feeling typical of a torn ACL? It s not too swollen but the pain is on the side of the knee cap on down to the calf. 8/10 pain that got worse as the day has gone on.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You can consult an orthopedician and get an MRI scan to look for any possible ligament involvement.

Numbness is a nerve injury related sign and not commonly seen in ACL injury.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
