Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

I am afraid there is NO medicine OR ANTIDOTE to neutralize the corrosive action of kerosene. The lag period between kerosene ingestion and bringing the patient to the hospital is VERY VERY IMPORTANT, as EVERY MOMENT COUNTS.

Kerosene severely erodes the inner lining of the food pipe, stomach and entire intestine. I'm sure you don't expect doctors to transplant the inner lining of the entire intestinal system! Quite often, some kerosene also enters the windpipe, causing severe damage to the lungs.

Only symptomatic treatment is given to minimize further damage to the intestine and promote healing. Further, quite often, the damage is irreversible, depending on the amount of kerosene ingested.

So, please be patient and have full faith in the treating doctors. I am sure that the doctors are doing their best to salvage as much intestine as possible. Healing takes its own time, perhaps 2-3 weeks. It's only after healing, would it be possible to assess the extent of damage.

I am sure that, by now, you must be convinced that the treating doctors are NOT animals!! THERE IS NO TREATMENT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.
