Is There A Way To Do Cataract Surgery Without Anesthesia?

I went to a doctor who does cataract surgery and he said I would have to have propofol . Is there a way to do catarct surgery so I don't have to be out cold ? I am frightened of anasthesia and would rather be blind from cataracts
Isn't there a drug that just calms you down without putting you out?

Cataract surgery is done under local anaesthesia Cornea is anaesthetise by xylocaine drop. Retrobulber in jection is given to paralise ciliary body andpupillary reflex. If it is extra capsular by phacho then small hole phacko is introduced over to lense surface lense is imulsi fied and sucked out. foldable lense is intro duced to pupilary area.Throughthe whole. Complete process is over in less then half an hour

Hello
Cataract surgery can be done under various types of anesthesia.
The recent types of surgery for cataract can be done under topical anesthesia by using eye drops without the requirement for injections.
Cataract surgery can also be done under no anesthesia by using cold saline.
Type of anesthesia has to be decided by the surgeon depending on the patients comfort.

Thank you
